Really happy to say that everything went well tonight. The show was very nearly sold out, so it would be a good idea to book asap. We’ve got a great team going on and it’s excellent to be part of it all. Looking forward to getting to put it on each night. We’ve got a few jam sessions in the bar after the show planned during the season. They are on Tuesday 13 April, Thursday 22 April and then for the final Saturday night 24 April. Also after the show on Thursday we are going to head to a fundraiser for Ado at Bar Me to play some songs. The link to that event is here
On a different note, I’m looking forward to visiting some nursing homes over the next few weeks to play some music and meet the older people who live there. It is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. They all have stories and memories of the classic songs and I hoping they’ll really enjoy listening to them played live.
Hope Easter was a great break for everyone and that all is going fantastically.
Try and catch the play if you can. It will be over in the blink of an eye!

Tickets now available for Dylan play at rocksurfers.org Happy to say sold out last season so book early x
Last Wednesday I recorded quite a few songs and have updated them on my playlist and song pages. The songs I have updated are… up to you, misery, fool for love, Araluen, yes you can, Chrissy’s fire, safe place to fall, orange lady, running back, say goodbye, time to be free, all i wanted was you, too concerned, rockin’ chair, merry xmas, cycle, child, angel, rivers and valleys and happiness. I hope you like them. They are just on guitar.

Had a great night last night. Thanks to everyone that could make it down. Lenni and I had heaps of fun and ended up playing a very very long set. But we got some fine drawings of Dylan for our competition to win tickets for play. Start rehearsals again tomorrow. Thinking about updating some recordings too. All in the name of fun x
Mocean gig tonight. Looking forward to relaxing and singing songs with Lenni. Haven’t played there for a long time.

For all my Perth friends…. Sorry for the late! Tomorrow in North Freo, I’m going to be playing at a concert with Mister and Sunbird. I’ll be playing a pretty full set of my songs joined by Mister and solo. We kick off at 2:30 in the arvo. Details are at facebook.com/misterandsunbird. Hope you can make it!

Next Friday night, the 12th of March, I am joining forces with Lenni, Si, Steve and special guests to play at Mocean. It will be a night of our own songs as well as Dylan and Joni and Baez, to keep us in the mood for our Sydney season of Chronic-Ill’s of Robert Zimmerman, opening at The Old Fitzroy on April the 7th. Mocean is in Bondi on Campbell Pde and the live music venue is downstairs. I’ll post more details in the next day or two.
Set ready to go for last show at The Bake House. Had such a great time here.
Back in our mini bus. Getting ready to pack and clean for our road trip home.
Having a yeros at a great Greek cafe called Oceans. Sold out show tonight!
Us at the APAM conference, where we busked out the front.

It’s easy to get sad and sentimental,
When we know this time is at an end,
We spent our moments in the water,
learning how to dive and how to swim,
The kids got hosed down by their Grand Pa,
They all through flowers on my brothers bride,
Granny fed them in the evenings,
My sister baked the cake in a home made tin,
And with love,
We may be going now family,
We may not know when the next time will be,
But we go with love,
The water in the hills keeps my Old Man’s garden green,
They grew the flowers underneath the lemon trees,
We came together by the blue Wisteria,
We drank champagne to toast my new sister,
The kids got stories from their Grand Pa,
And Granny made their beds with a soft white down,
The plates were out on the verandah,
Their was music as the sun went down,
On us,
We may be going now family,
We may not know when the next time will be,
But we go with love,
Oh you could hear the bell ring,
Oh you could hear the violin,
Oh harmonica on the wind,
Oh you could hear our hearts sing,
With love,
We may be going now family,
We may not know when the next time will be,
But we go with love,

On the road to Albury. We have a great bus and trailer and are heading back to Bondi to pick up a few things. Rainy day. Jen is driving and doing a great job. Andy is telling us about hanging out with Taylor Swift last night. About to arrive at Lenni’s. Dropped in to say goodbye to family. Off to highway now.
Thanks to everyone that made our Zimmerman fundraiser such a great success. We ended up raising over $1200 and that will definitely cover a lot of our travel costs down to Adelaide. As you probably know, we have had to book the theatre, find accommodation and cover our travel etc and as it is a co op and there are hundreds of other plays showing, it could be quite an expensive tour, so your help has been so appreciated. Hope you get a chance to see our Sydney season in March x
Oh so many books to read… Especially if you are not a big reader. Great news! It is pretty certain we have a 3 week season at The Old Fitzroy Theatre, opening in late March.
Lucy, Andy and i spent the day in the Old Fitzroy theatre working on scenes and also working out transport options. Lots of fun. Also lots to work on. Got our fund raiser on Thursday night. Got a great band together and plan tk play alot of Dylan songs… And ours. Had an amazing response for prizes to raffle off on the night. Will be great. Hope you can make it!
My car was great but this year I’m going to bike it. This is a NZ bmx and i totally love it.
We have a great night planned at the Old Fitzroy to raise some funds for our Zimmerman play for the Adelaide Fringe. Hope you can make it.
Hi, welcome to my site. I hope you have had a great Christmas and New Years celebration. Over the last month I’ve been up to Byron for a few gigs and Perth to see family and play for my friends wedding. Soon we are heading down to Adelaide to do a season of the Bob Dylan play, which will be great. Meantime the band and I are playing at The Basement on Monday 18th of Jan with a fantastic line up. I’m just off to see Al Green so I’ll post more info tomorrow. Hope you can make it along to the gig!

Hi,
Just thought I’d put the word out about a great night at The Vanguard coming up this Thursday (12th November). I’ll be hosting and playing for a tribute to Elliott Smith. I look at Elliott Smith as a very before his time intimate and inventive songwriter, who in some ways reminds me of an angry Beck. There will be heaps of great singer songwriters singing his songs and it’s a very full line up, so if you want either enjoy his music or discover what he was all about, come along. Tix at the door or from moshtix or the Vanguard site….which is here.
This is the blurb from the event site…

Tomorrow night there is a great line up of singers performing a night of Jeff and Tim Buckley songs at The Basement. I get to host it and sing one of Jeff Buckley’s songs with the band, which I’m looking forward to. Went a rehearsal today at Sound Level and heard some of the singers and met the band. Hope you can make it if you are up for some live music this Friday night (6th November). Tix at the door or from moshtix and it starts at 8.
We have updated our site for our live music project, Under the Sun. Check it out if you want at www.underthesunlivemusic.com
This week we have also been busy with the Chronic-Ill’s of Robert Zimmerman play out at Riverside Theatre, developing it for a possible programming opportunity. Fingers crossed.
On a fun note, I have been accepted as the bass player for the local School Parents Band. We are playing some funk tunes for them on Thursday night and should be heaps of fun.
Great wishes to you!

Hi,
Just letting you know local singer/songwriter Nadene Pita has a launch for her Turning Arrows into Flowers CD on tonight (19th September) in Paddington at The Stone Gallery, Paddington Uniting Church on 395 Oxford St. She has a great line up of some of Sydney’s best musicians and a lot of rehearsals and energy has gone into making this an excellent night of music. Tix are $20/15 and doors open at 8.
Hope to see you there!
p.s. you might want to check out a site for my event music project at www.internationalroast.com
Just thought I’d put the word out that Nadene Pita, has her CD launch for Turning Arrows into Flowers this Saturday night, the 19th at The Stone Gallery, Paddington Uniting Church, 395 Oxford St , Paddington. Tixs are $15/20 and it’s from 8 til 11. It is going to be a fantastic night of music with an awesome line up of some of Sydneys’ best musicians. Nadene is an amazing singer/songwriter and violist. She has joined me to play on my songs on many occasions and it is going to be great to be there to hear her songs and arrangements. Hope to see you there!
Next Saturday nights gig was first conceived last October in NZ whilst sitting outside in a bath warmed by a fire underneath me, looking up at the stars and thinking about how I would like to play music when I got back to Sydney. I really wanted to find a great space, where people could come and listen, and my band could freely and truely express the songs in a relaxed way. This Saturday night gig will be exactly that and hopefully will be a meaningful and enjoyable night for everyone. I have a strong affection and connection to The Old Fitzroy Hotel, so am really looking forward to playing there. It would be really appreciated if you could spread the word about this performance. The entry is donation only and we will be playing from just after 8 til late. Hope to see you there! x

Played a very relaxing set of my songs at The Rec Hall at Parramatta UWS today. It was sunny and sounded pretty good due to a set of new mic cables. On my way home I dropped my guitar into The Guitar Factory for a few weeks. Ouch! The neck had split at the top near the head, due to rough handling on the plane. Luckily I have a Hiscock flight case! I’m going to get the action lowered a bit whilst it’s there and get a bit of a set up done. The Guitar Factory have the best repairers working for them, so it’s good hands.
The other night I included a file factory player on the right side of my site, which has a recording of all my songs. They are not definitive by any stretch but if you are interested you will get a good idea of them. Working on a new one at the moment which I’ll post soon.

Lenni has asked Simon and I to join her for her set of songs as part of an all female line-up at The Basement on Monday the 17th of August. It’s going to be fun and I’m looking forward to joining her on her songs. Speaking of working with Lenni and Si, there is word that we will be work shopping The Chronic-Ills of Robert Zimmerman at the end of September, so that is very exciting. I must be ready for it cause I’ve been wearing my Dylan tight jeans for the last few days. Here is one of the songs I compiled for Steve. They are all pretty raw, but have a listen if you are interested. It’s called Too Concerned.
