Blinding Me
words & music (c) matt ralph 2012
It took me a time to find my cause,
Maybe too late you must have felt at times,
I was on my way before,
To tell you the truth,
It was all I ever wanted,
I don’t want,
Don’t want to hurt no one,
No I don’t want,
Don’t want to hurt no one at all,
But in my dreams,
I’ve seen the one,
And I cant pretend anymore,
When we dance,
We’ll dance together,
And in my heart I’ll know that it’s true,
And in my eyes you burn like fire,
You’re blinding me to all but you,
Without you I was no ones man,
I belonged to no one,
No fight or no land,
In my dreams you pursued me,
Even when I refused to see,
But I don’t want,
Don’t want to hurt no one,
No I don’t want,
Don’t want to hurt no one at all,
But in my dreams I’ve seen the one,
And I can’t pretend anymore,
When we dance
We’ll dance together
And in my heart I’ll know that it’s true
And in my eyes you burn like fire,
You’re blinding me to all but you,
I woke,
I worked for pay,
Spoke the obvious without passion,
But I wouldn’t say,
The emptiness that I was feeling,
I buried my loss and prayed,
It would be quick and sudden,
But in that moment you were still burning in my eyes,
But I don’t want,
Don’t want to hurt no one,
No I don’t want,
Don’t want to hurt no one at all,
But in my dreams I’ve seen the one,
And I can’t pretend anymore,
When we dance,
We’ll dance together,
And in my heart I’ll know that it’s true,
And in my eyes you burn like fire,
You’re blinding me to all but you.
