Kalamunda trip

Phil Bebb and I at The Kalamunda Hotel

Phil Bebb and I at The Kalamunda Hotel

Kalamunda was awesome. I had my first gig at The Kalamunda Hotel, which thanks to my good friend Phil Bebb, who brought an awesome P.A. not to mention his beautiful family, as well as my family and friends turning up and some great weather, plus a very friendly management team who made us feel very welcome, it was a fantastic afternoon! It was also great that Phil joined me on guitar for a number of songs as we used to play together in a band in highschool. My mate who played drums for our band and who I haven’t seen for over 15 years came along too, so that was awesome to see him and catch up on all his news.

On the music front I managed to spend the time revisiting a number of songs which have been on the back burner for quite a long time and I’m looking forward to recording and posting them soon.

Whilst I was there The Kalamunda Hotel were very happy to announce that Mental as Anything were going to be playing there on the 2nd of March. They asked if I would come to support them, which is great news, as they were icons of my Kalamunda years and I am very much looking forward to meeting them and catching up with my friends again.

My parents spoilt me as always with roast dinners and irish beer, and letting me annoy their neighbours with loud strumming in the back room so thanks Ma and Pa xx

New Lyric, Songs, videos and Calendar Pages

Just letting you know I have added a few pages to my site.  The tabs are up the top. I’ve posted  a few recordings and lyrics, as well as a some clips and also a calendar of up and coming gigs.  I’m looking forward to adding and updating them  and I’ll post a short note to let you know  as I do. Hope you can check it out.

Thanks to Laura

It was a great night at The Clovelly Hotel last night, thanks to Laura, Emma and their friends holidaying from Israel. It was such a nice experience to play for them and their support was very appreciated. Towards the end of the night, there was quite a chilled out atmosphere which meant that I was able to play quite a few songs that I don’t normally feel comfortable playing. Laura took quite a few a few pics, including this one which is great to be able to post. She also steered a few punters away from the requests wagon, which was awesome. So thanks Laura x

The Chronic-Ills of Robert Zimmerman

I have often thought that any time spent on Bob Dylan is no waste of time. Like the old saying that time spent fishing is not included in your alloted life span. I am very excited to be part of a production later this year, playing Dylan in a play written by Benito Di Fonza and directed by Lucinda Gleeson called The Chronic-Ills of Robert Zimmerman. It is a fantastic play written in the tradition of Dylan material, being full of song, poetry and a pentatonic collage of images and scenes from Dylan’s life. It will be performed at The Old Fitzroy Theatre in Woolloomooloo with more details to come I am sure.
